The EFGS 2024 Conference, held in Brdo pri Kranju (Slovenia), from 10 to 12 December 2024, was a successful event and remains a key networking point for the statistical-geospatial community.
The 2024 edition of the EFGS annual conference, hosted by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia, was enriched due to the professional insights, engaging discussions, knowledge sharing and thought-provoking questions throughout the entire programme.
The meaningful contributions of both speakers and participants made the event truly impactful and remarkable. The conference once again highlighted the importance of building and strengthening collaboration, cooperation and synergies between the statistical and geospatial communities in order to apply the ideas and inspire innovation and improvements in organisations.
The EFGS 2024 Conference also outlined the need to address societal challenges, collaboration and data sharing aspects in the future as well as streamlining the topics for upcoming events by focusing on global policy issues, such as housing and SDG implementation, to avoid duplication of work and overlap of outcomes.
