This webinar introduced to the GSGF self-assessment tool and how it can be used by organisations as a structured approach to assess the capabilities to integrate statistical and geospatial data and to streamline geospatial production components into architectures and business processes.
40 participants attended the webinar from around 20 different organisations.
6 countries involved in the project shared their experiences in filling in the tool, namely Austria, Finland, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. These countries pinpointed and briefly exposed who participated in the exercise (NSIs alone or together with the NMCA or other geospatial organisation), the overall situation, what was difficult, thoughts triggered, main takeaways and recommendations to other countries interested in completing the tool.
There was room for some discussion, clarifications, questions and answers, highlighting the time and resources allocated to carry out this exercise, the benefits in identifying gaps and improvements in a more comprehensive manner, and how it can be used to reach high-level awareness.
