Description

These guidelines were created by the GEOSTAT 1B project in 2011, aiming to help NSIs to produce harmonised population grid data in compliance with INSPIRE specifications. The guidelines propose two pathways; aggregation of point-based data to the ETRS89 European grid or recasting of gridded data in national grid systems.

Being more than 10 years old, some of the elements described may now be obsolete. However, the guidelines still provide a good orientation and valuable hands-on methodological guidance. The guidelines also comprise some useful code for data aggregation in SAS, ArcGIS, gvSIG and MS SQL server.
