The Q2018 European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics took place in Krakow, Poland, the 26-29 June 2018. The conference had two special sessions on the geospatial concept of quality in official statistics. Janusz Dygaszewicz from Statistics Poland and Julien Gaffuri from Eurostat jointly chaired the first session, with speeches concerning the topics of improving quality with spatial sampling, census statistics, harmonization of statistical and geodetic divisions and more.

The other geospatial session concerned, among other things, the GEOSTAT 3 project and it´s task to produce a European implementation guide for the Global Statistical Geospatial Framework. Karin Hedeklint presented the requirements that the GEOSTAT 3 project will suggest for every principle in the framework. Paper and presentation are published at the GEOSTAT 3 site (paper, presentation).

There were several other sessions at the conference that to some extent concerned geospatial information. More information about the conference is at the Q2018 official website.
