On 26-30 September 2016 the annual INSPIRE Conference took place in Barcelona. The main theme of the conference was “INSPIRing sustainable development”.
During the 3rd plenary session “INSPIRE by thematic networks,” President of the European Forum of Geography and Statistics – Janusz Dygaszewicz gave a lecture about the Forum. He presented the history of the EFGS, courses of action, underlining the importance of cooperation and knowledge exchange on a European level to enable creation and dissemination of cohesive products of merging statistical data with geospatial information as well as fulfilling INSPIRE directive requirements on dissemination of spatial data (technical guidelines INSPIRE).
