On 25-26 April the 3rd meeting of the United Nations Expert Group on the Integration of Statistical and Geospatial Information (UN EG-ISGI) was held at OECD premises in Paris, France.

The meeting aimed to:

  • review the outcomes of the members’ consultation on the proposal of a global statistical-geospatial framework, initiated by the UN Statistical Commission and UN-GGIM;
  • focus on the prioritisation of topics of the Expert Group future program;
  • discuss ways of coordination of activity on standards modernization and interoperability;
  • discuss other integration of statistical and geospatial information-related activities.

 

During the meeting, an invitation to the 9th Conference of the European Forum for Geography and Statistics 2016 was anouncemed by President of the EFGS and Vincent Loonis from INSEE (Statistics France) who is the host of this year’s event.
