Conference venue and date

The annual EFGS conference will take place in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, from 24th October to 26th October 2012.
The conference will take place in the  Czech Association of Scientific and Technical Societies headquarters (ČSVTS) on Novotného lávka 5  in the historical centre of Prague.

Transport to the conference venue:

From the airport:

1) Public transport by special bus line Airport Express (AE) or the bus no. 119 to the "Dejvická" Metro (underground) station on the green line A and continue 3 stops by underground to the "Staroměstská" station. After leaving the Metro area on escalator use the left exit to the Křižovnická Street and continue 1 stop by tram no. 17 or 18 to the tram stop "Karlovy Lázně" or just 5 minutes a walk along the Křižovnická Street to the Novotného lávka. This route takes approx. 40 - 45 minutes and costs 32 CZK (bus no. 119) or 64 CZK (bus AE).
2) By taxi with company Prague Airport Transfers. There is required pre-booking your journey via online reservation form or by phone/email. Payment is possible either online after completing your booking or by the taxi driver in cash or by credit and debit cards. The transfer takes 30 - 45 minutes depending on the traffic, price: 550 CZK for up to 4 passengers to all Prague hotels.

From the Prague Main Railway Station:

1) Public transport by tram no. 5 from the "Hlavní nádraží" tram stop (on the right side of the park) 4 stops to the "Strossmayerovo náměstí" tram stop, then change to the tram no. 17 and continue until the tram stop "Karlovy Lázně". This route takes approx. 20 minutes and costs 24 CZK.
2) Public transport by Metro (underground) from the "Hlavní nádraží" Metro station on the red line C go 1 stop to the Metro transfer station "Muzeum", then continue by the underground on the green line A to the "Staroměstská" station. After leaving the Metro area on escalator use the left exit to the Křižovnická Street and continue 1 stop by tram no. 17 or 18 to the tram stop "Karlovy Lázně" or just 5 minutes a walk along the Křižovnická Street to Novotného lávka. This route takes approx. 20 minutes and costs 24 CZK.

Pre-conference venue

The Pre-conference (EFGS Geostat 1B project meeting) will be held in the Czech Statistical Office headquarters, Na padesátém 3268/81, Prague 10. The CZSO (an eleven-storeyed gray building ) is located 200 m from the "Skalka" Metro station on the green line A.
